You Go Girl- A Letter to my uncle

Uncle JC,

You were like my 2nd father. You babysat me when my parents were busy. You introduced me to the softest and fluffiest pancakes in the world and would always stir me out of my sleep by circling hot pancakes around my nose ๐Ÿ™‚ You were my support; especially in college, you would call me often to check on me and just to tell me how much you believed in me. In school and in life you were my teacher. You taught me that life is what I make it and that education is fun, exciting, and completely interactive with lots of experiments…you created in me the love for learning that I have. And the hope that everyone I encounter will know the power of thought, creativity, knowledge, and the application thereof.

It’s been almost 10 years since you passed but I wanted you to know I published my first book “Study Skills for Parents” and dedicated it to you ๐Ÿ™‚ And I’ve decided to name my soon to be Publishing Company after you so that your legacy, what you should for, and the insight you left behind with me will be passed on. I remember a phrase you always used to say in celebration of me…I believe that if you were still here you would definitely say it today…anyway, even and especially in my success I thought of you. I will carry you in my heart always. ๐Ÿ™‚

Love your niece,
Cassandra

P.S. I know I know “You go girl” ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Courage to Keep Going

What do you do once all you have at the moment is discipline to carry you through? Once your motivations and passion have fizzled down. Once There are no results and you only have the vision left that you have in your mind and all the piled up work.

โ€œThe road to success is dotted with many tempting parking places.โ€ ~ Author Unknown

This is the point where many people throw in the towel. Where they seem to believe they are sacrificing way too much for a project where they aren’t even experiencing any results.

“What we do not see, what most of us never suspect of existing, is the silent but irresistible power which comes to the rescue of those who fight on in the face of discouragement.โ€ ~ Napoleon Hill

I will share this key point with you. That moment is the moment where the true hard work starts. It’s where commitment is waiting to meet you at the crossroads and join you for the journey therefore increasing your strength and momentum. At this point you must keep going and remember that this is preparation for the better days ahead of you. So keep moving strategically forward. Stay disciplined and commit.

Go that extra mile that failures refuse to travel (Mary Kay Ash).

“I will persist until I succeed. Always will I take another step. If that is of no avail I will take another, and yet another. In truth, one step at a time is not too difficult. I know that small attempts, repeated, will complete any undertaking.โ€ ~ Og Mandino

Go further than you’ve ever imagined. Just keep moving courageously down your path and you will reach your destination.

Be authentic

I remember Oprah saying that when she started her show how imitated she was about competing with some of the top rated shows out there. Her solution: You’ve got to run your own race and don’t look back.

Many times when we finally get the confidence to fulfill that desire in our heart we get caught up and distracted in the glitter and glamour of those who have already came before us and have already achieved a fair amount of success. And what does it do? It throws us OFF track! I know…I have been there, but the thing is…

…there is only 1 you.
…There is only 1 me.

Each of us have our strengths and weaknesses. Our talents and special gifts. That’s how God made us so that we could support one another in love. Where one is weak another is strong.

Don’t despise the day of small beginnings. Be grateful for the master piece God made in you and run your race ๐Ÿ™‚

In love, blessings, and pursuit,
Cassandra ๐Ÿ™‚
